18 month fixed term contract
The North Essex Economic Board has brought authorities in Braintree, Chelmsford, Colchester, Maldon, Tendring and Uttlesford together alongside Essex County Council to drive economic growth and regeneration across the North Essex Area. The authorities are now looking for an experienced programme manager to run the programme of activities agreed by the Board and the officer Steering Group.
Hosted by Braintree District, the Programme Manager will be responsible for managing the overall programme, budgets, individual project management and procurement and will be supported by an officer steering group made up of senior officers from each authority.
This role will be based in Braintree, Essex however initially, in line with current government guidance, be based from home. However if/when government guidelines change the role may then revert to being office based, whilst retaining some flexible working options.
This is an ambitious growth and economic development agenda delivered across a large geographic area and as such we are looking for an experienced programme manager, with excellent knowledge of all aspects of project management and the ability to manage own workloads to work as part of a cross organisation team to help us achieve the necessary economic improvements.
The successful candidate will need to have excellent communication skills along with a proven track record of coordinating the delivery of strategic programmes and projects using appropriate systems and procedures, ideally within an economic development setting. With a relevant degree or significant equivalent experience, you will be well organised, have the ability to write and present clear papers to the board and have experience of working with elected members.
