This is an exciting time to work for Braintree. The District will grow significantly in the coming decades and we are looking to embrace this challenge to deliver well-designed new homes, jobs and the infrastructure required to support this growth, whilst being careful to preserve the character and quality of the District.
We are transforming and growing our Planning Enforcement team and have a number of great opportunities available.
We are seeking to recruit a Planning Enforcement Compliance Officer, which is a newly created role within the team. The successful candidate would be responsible for a diverse caseload, primarily comprising a mix of Planning Enforcement cases, relating to breaches of planning conditions, and a series of pro-active enforcement work to ensure compliance with planning conditions, including all the related case management and customer liaison. The candidate would also be tasked with carrying out site inspections and resolving breaches of planning control where they exist through the most appropriate action. This would include where necessary, the drafting of notices and delegated reports, collection of evidence, and the preparation of evidence and documentation for legal proceedings and appeals.
We welcome applications from Planning Enforcement Officers looking for a new challenge, or candidates with related experience looking to take on a new opportunity. You will ideally have experience of working on a range of planning enforcement work. Experience of working in an enforcement environment and within a customer focused environment is essential.
The successful candidate will have a strong work ethic, excellent communication, report writing, and customer service skills, as well as the necessary motivation to deliver high performance and the ability to manage their own caseload and working to tight deadlines.
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a dynamic and ambitious Planning Service. If you would like an informal discussion about the role, please contact Darren Tuff, Planning Enforcement Manager on 01376 551414 EXT 2528.
