Who are we?
The North Essex Parking Partnership (NEPP) is a council-run organisation which brings together all street-based parking services in North Essex. Our aim is to administer the parking rules to a fair, proportionate and consistent standard in order to provide a service in a reasonable and responsible way.
What does the job involve?
The role is challenging and will involve enforcement patrols throughout all of the areas of the parking partnership and walking in excess of 10 miles per day in all weathers issuing penalty charge notices to motorists parked in contravention of parking regulations.
Skills
Tact and diplomacy are essential skills for a Civil Enforcement Officer as you will encounter members of the public from all walks of life and will be expected to treat everyone politely and fairly under sometimes very difficult circumstances. You should be as comfortable working alone as working as part of a team and be able to use your own initiative.
You need to be literate, numerate and have some computer skills and it would be useful for you to have a good working knowledge of the North Essex Parking Partnership areas. Knowledge of parking enforcement and the relevant legislation is not as essential as someone with the right attitude.
Responsibilities:
You will be required to work a shift pattern including evenings, weekends and Public Holidays. This equates to an average of 37 hours per week. A uniform will be provided and full training given. You will be required to pass the Wamitab Level 2 examination for Parking Enforcement Officers.
