One year fixed-term contract
Braintree District Council has an exciting opportunity for a Community Support Employment Officer to join the Community Services Team.
We are looking for an individual with a proven track record of engaging and working with different, complex and challenging customer groups, identifying barriers to employment and developing clear pathways to access employment support, debt/money management, improving health and wellbeing and securing or retaining housing.
Working alongside DWP, a range of council services and external partners, both statutory and from the voluntary community sector, you will look to improve employment outcomes or prospects of future employment for communities or individuals facing the most complex barriers to work.
With experience of working within the benefits advice sector and a good working knowledge of welfare benefits including Universal Credit and local partner organisations that support residents, you will develop and deliver effective advice in relation to employment, education, training and volunteering opportunities to enhance a customer’s ability to find work.
You will be responsible for devising and developing appropriate campaigns with local partners to maximise effort in engaging hard to reach groups. You’ll also raise awareness of the support available and build relationships and liaise closely with Braintree and Witham job centres, to take a joint approach in tackling unemployment in the District.
Further details can be found in the Job Profile.
